The two Barbara Pearlman Design Atelier showrooms inside The Merchandise Mart -- Modern at Design Atelier in suite 1848 and Traditional at Design Atelier in suite 6-148 -- will carry the glamorous and fully customizable product line year-round for interior design and related trade professionals. “We have admired Barbara’s work and dazzling style for many years. It is an honor for us to have Zia-Priven Design products carried in her showrooms,” said Paul Priven, partner, Zia-Priven Design. “Our modern lines complement the Design Atelier’s existing offerings perfectly, and our transitional lighting combines a vintage look with contemporary influences to give interior designers more choices as they visit the world-famous Merchandise Mart.” The ZP Couture Collection features custom lighting to the trade, including elegant chandeliers and pendants such as the new Lexington Chandelier; part of Zia-Priven Design’s brand new Exotic Wood Collection; beautiful sconces; sleek marble table lamps; and ornate pendant finials and accessories. Zia-Priven accommodates all commercial, interior and hospitality requirements. All of its products can be made to any custom size, fabric and finish, and any electrical requirements can be met in order to create a uniquely spectacular look for any interior environment. The innovative husband-and-wife team behind Zia-Priven Design, Emmy Award-nominated Marcia Zia and Paul Priven, garnered much media attention with their 10-foot-tall Troy Chandelier. A modern reinterpretation of the classic French Empire chandelier, the Troy is made out of more than 3,000 ping pong balls and was featured in the lounge at the 2006 Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York. The Troy, as well as many other products, has been featured in numerous worldwide publications including The New York Times, Interior Design magazine, Architectural Digest and Elle Décor. “Any Chicago-area interior designer who hasn’t been to our showrooms lately should visit soon and become familiar with Zia-Priven Design,” said Barbara Pearlman, president, Design Atelier. “I was drawn to Marcia’s and Paul’s products because of their unique look and fine craftsmanship. Their design philosophy is based on a contemporary-traditional fusion, which makes their products timeless classics appropriate in residences and hospitality settings. This is the next big company in lighting.”
